Grade between Major Stations

Is there a way for Civil3D to calculate and display the grade/slope between Major stations?

I am using LiDAR surfaces and displaying the grades creates a mess with a label at each tangent.

Ideally, there is a way to calculate and display grades/slopes between major stations so that the labels are dynamic and update with changes to alignment.

This would be a very helpful feature for concept driveway and road design.

Thanks

Hi @34241430363!

I suppose you have a corridor, right? One nice alternative is using feature lines (FLs). You may extract the crown FL here, FL from Corridor >>> Select the Crown >>> Select one of them:

And this FL is dynamic with your corridor! Now, to the grade.

Civil 3D >>> Annotate tab >>> Add Labels >>> Feature Line >>> Add Feature Line Labels. On this dialog box, select "Multiple Segment", edit the label style to add the grade information to your label like this:

You may add a text before the grade value in the Text Component Editor, like "Slope:". You may change fonts, sizes and so on, if necessary. Once the label style is ok, you may add it to your "AutoCorridor FL". The spacing between labels is related to your corridor frequency and grade breaks from the alignment's profile.

Done! Dynamic link and labels. If anything is unclear, let us know!

Best regards,
