Flared End Section

What is causing profile view to shoot down to elevation zero when I draw part (flared end section) in profile view? When I grip flared end section and pipe in plan view and view in object viewer, the elevations seem correct. I've used flared end sections in past versions and never had issues. I'm running Civil 3D 2023.3.1.

Is it an OOTB catalog part? What's the structure properties show for the insert elevation?

Yes, ootb part. There's no property for invert elevation. See Pic.

Also, I got it to work somehow but not exactly sure what I did now. Essentially, I deleted the pipe I was attaching the flared end section to, then picked Pipes and Structures to draw both at the same time in plan view. Then projected it to profile view. initially, profile was still jacked, so I dragged alignment out past the end of the flared end section and profile view reset correctly, then I snapped the alignment back to where I had it which is at the end of the pipe, not the flared end section. Profile view remained correctly. So, like I said not sure what worked and I couldn't re-create it either. From memory, I do remember years back when using headwalls adn/or flared end sections, you had to draw both pipe and structure at the same time so the attachment and elevations were correct.

Update: I just had another situation where I needed to add another Flared End Section to the end of a pipe.

Initially, I tried connecting the structure to end of pipe in Plan View then added structure to Profile View. Profile View went to hell.

Next, I deleted Pipe and Structure then placed them in Plan View at the same time. I proceeded to draw parts in Profile View and walaa. Worked like a charm. I didn't stretch alignment the was I mentioned in last reply. I just left alignment alone. So the only thing I can say for certain, at least in this case, drawing the Pipe and Flared End at the same time in Plan View then projecting both at the same time to the Profile View works.

Perhaps, when you placed the FES, you snapped to something at elevation 0.

I thought the same thing initially until I flipped the surface, Flared End, Pipes and Catch Basins up in Object Viewer. All were fine. Also, when the profile view shot down, there were no parts at the bottom. Puzzling to me.
