First time startup using Civil 3D 2013..>HELP

First time user.  Loaded A-CAD Civil 3D 2013 from CD onto network drive.  How do I boot up the program to start using it?  Have no instructions with the program and no one here at works knows anything about A-CAD

What do you mean exactly by "loaded... from CD onto network drive"?

AutoCAD is designed to be installed on a local PC, not just copied to a network drive.

If the install is successful, you will have icons on your desktop and inside the start menu for Civil 3D

That's probably the issue then - it was loaded onto a network drive and NOT locally to my PC. Will DL to PC and retry to bring up icons you refer to.

If your licensing is network or multi-seat standalone, you can build a deployment on your network, from which you can install on multiple local PCs.

But generally for single installs, you fire up the install and follow along, pressing [Next] as needed until you get to this screen.

2013 is a bit old. First thing you should check is that; if it's a stand-alone install, you have the proper Authorization Code. If it's a network version; you need a License File and Autodesk License Manager. If you don't have any of them. You'll only get a 30 day trial.

The program needs to be installed on the local computer. Either by using the CD or by using the Start.exe file that would have been copied to the network from the CD.

Got it...it is a single seat license only. Will need to put locally on my PC then.
And yep, it's old, but that's the only thing the boss will spring for right now since it's been laying around the office for some years = $0.00 cost.
What does a new single seat license version cost these days?
