Field to Finish Problem

IMG_7890.jpgI want to be able to have field to finish automatically draw in the interior building corner based off of the shots provided. Ideally it would be a line from point 302 that is perpendicular to the building face located as points 300 & 301.

I have messed around a little with the extend code but I can not get it to work without entering a dimension which I do not want to do. Any solutions?

The reason you have ?? Is because the field guy didn't give a number form 301 for a distance. Had he done that it been easy. Myself I would import code with the extension command to create the true 90 and re-import the data or just edit the linework and save it to the database.

I had to deal with that many times. The surveyor got lazy and never measured it. What I did was manually draw the right angle to get the distance from the lowest point (in your case #301). I then edited the point code to include the distance extension, then reprocessed the linework. That would ensure that any more processing would include the "fixed" point. If you manually edit the figure, but later on process the linework, your manual edit(s) cause duplicate figures.

It's one of the reasons I put an Idea to address issues like that, but Autodesk doesn't seem to care about survey anymore. Look at https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-ideas/survey-database-improvements/idc-p/7484340#M6389 to see that Autodesk "Accepted" my Survey Database improvements 4.5 years ago, but nothing was done. #2 on my list is the one I talked about in response to your question.

I have a new issue with my Field to Finish. I am trying to import data from my GPS unit as NAD83 State Plane Grid but it comes into the drawing ~12' off of the coordinates that are in my GPS unit. What setting could be causing this discrepancy? I have the database settings on NAD83 grid as well so that does not appear to be the issue.

Yes! That was the issue to that problem, we had the correct setting in field to finish but the incorrect drawing setting in civil 3d.
