Feature Lines Not Extracting from My Corridor

Hi, everyone. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I can't extract feature lines from my corridor.
I built the assembly to build the corridor using a simple 10' lane and a general daylight. The creation of the alignment, profile and corridor went off without a hitch. I plan to use the edge of pavement feature line to grade to distance--something I've done a few times before. However, when I select "create feature line from corridor", the corridor DOES become highlighted when I mouse over it, but when I click on any section of the corridor nothing happens except a statement appears in the dialog saying "Select a corridor feature line".
A few caveats: This is the first time that I've actually built an assembly. So... that could be an issue. Also, I have a new PC (as in 2 days old), so no idea if that may be causing an issue. I'm also running AutoCAD 2015 (fresh install on my new PC from my Civil 3D USB stick from back in the day). I'm mostly retired and am a professor of Civil Engineering, so I may do consulting work some years and not others. Maybe I should jump on the subscription bandwagon, but the standalone 2015 version has always done what I needed it to do. Well--until now...!
I think that's about it. I've also audited the drawing and even tried the recovery function to make sure there are no issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
