Fatal error when exporting to .ttm

I need to export a .ttm file of my proposed surface to give to a contractor.  Every time I hit the export button under the Trimble ribbon it gives me a fatal error.  Any help in solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.  The export worked earlier for me with a slightly smaller project.  But with this larger project, it doesn't even attempt to export.  I have attached a pic of the error msg that shows up in case that helps.  Thanks in advance for any help!

Standard Out-of-the-Box Civil 3D won't import or export a TTM. You'd need a plug-in like DotSoft's C3D Surface Tools.

Here's a way I've used. Export your C3D surface to Trimble Business Center HCE (they have a free version) and then export the TTM from Trimble Business Center. That will also allow you to export the two necessary files for machine control (SVD and SVL).

Thanks Dave, I am currently downloading your Trimble Business Center HCE. I downloaded the add-on from Trimble to give me the ribbon to export to .ttm. But as I said earlier, it worked for a small drawing but not a large one. I'll give this other program a shot!

The free version of Trimble Business Center HCE won't allow you to do any edits on the surface but it's great for file format conversions. I've used TBC HCE to export huge surface TTMs. I never had any luck with the Trimble Link Add-On. I thought it was fairly useless.
