Failed to import imx or dwg file from Civil 3d to Infraworks

Hi,

I exported parcel polygons from microstation DGN file into DWG file format.

I then opened the dwg file in Civil 3d, and used the 'create parcels from objects' button to convert all polygons to parcels. I deleted all irrelevant layers and objects.

I exported the file to IMX, and tried to import as a data source in Infraworks, a 'Failed to import data' window popped up. 

I also tried to import the file as a Civil 3d DWG data source in Infraworks, but another 'Failed to import data' window popped up, saying 'IMX schema version is not supported'.

I am using Infraworks 2023.1 @2022 Autodesk, and Civil 3d 2023 @2022 Autodesk. So I think the version should be compatible.

How can I properly import parcels from Civil 3d to Infraworks?

Hey there, @sukishums!

I'm used to exporting parcels from Civil 3D as shapefiles with metadata. InfraWorks many times has a GIS way of doing things. Basically, the workflow is: Creating Parcels in Civil 3D >>> Exporting them as SDF >>> Exporting them as Shapefiles >>> Import in InfraWorks as coverages and map the metadata between Shapefile and InfraWorks data source's table, Parcel Number, Area... and so on.
