Y,

Welcome to the Autodesk Forum.

I've never been able to get Trimble Link to do much of anything. Your best bet is to install the free version of Trimble Business Center HCE. Then you can export your C3D surface to TBC HCE and convert it to a TTM. From there you have lots of options to export not only the TTM Surface to data collectors, but you can also export the SVD and SVL files that Trimble Machine Control needs for GPS dozers and blades.

If you need to export the surface, Trimble will understand the triangles. (Other than surfaces, I know nothing about Trimble software)

Change the surface display, so it will show the triangle.  Click the surface and on the ribbon select "extract objects" select the triangle and contours if you wish.

These can then be used by Trimble to create a surface.

Hope that helps,

Hi @Pointdump. I hope you don't mind my asking you a question on a three-years-ago thread. 😉

When you say "Then you can export your Civil 3D surface to TBC HCE..." what format are you exporting to? LandXML? DXF of the triangles?

Thanks,

Tim

Hi Tim,

If using Trimble Business Centre, simply export to a LandXML, drag, and drop.
