When using the EXPORTC3DDRAWING command to export from Civil 3D to a base AutoCAD file, not all of the layers and linework that were in my original civil 3D make it over to the exported file. Does anyone know why this could be and what layers this command chooses to export? I thought at first it only exported layers that weren't frozen, but as I was comparing the files I'm not sure if that was the actually the reason.
You could try using the EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command. I've had better luck with it.
When I try using that command I get the following the in command box:
"Command: EXPORTTOAUTOCAD
Loading AEC Object Explode..."
But nothing more happens. Do you know why that command isn't working?
Does it cancel the command or is it waiting? The dialog box may be hidden or offscreen. After starting the command if there is no dialog box try holding the SHIFT+WINDOWS KEY and press the left and right arrow keys to see if the dialog box appears on screen.
I often get the comment from people that Civil 3d locked up so I force-closed it. You can tell if its locked up by going to the task manager, locate the "AutoCAD Application" line. If the memory value is changing, its doing something. It may take it a while, but it is working.
