Excel Import to autocad table

Good afternoon all, I have a general question in regards to table formatting. I currently have an excel spreadsheet that contains grading data that I would like to import into autocad. I have tried several times to import the spreadsheet into Autocad however, no matter what I do I can not seem to change the style of the text of to imported spreadsheet. I would like to know if anyone has encountered this and what would be a possible solution to import a excel spreadsheet into autocad so that the text font can be formated and changed.

First you have to remove all formatting in the excel file and save it. In later versions of excel that is only possible by saving as a *csv.  Now you can use the table style to configure how the data defaults. Or select the cells you wish to change, in the properties palette, in the cell section find cell locking and change it to 'Content Locked'. This will allow changing of cell formatting in the properties palette and keep the data protected.

I came across the question and it relates to an issue I am having.

1. I am creating a technology schedule in Autodesk AutoCAD MAP 3D 2024. I have multiple sheets in excel I have created data links for as the lists are too long to put in one page. In excel I am using a Power Query to create a subset of data in a table format to put into each sheet.

2. Having to add another step is a bit combuersome. I have 10+ tables that need to be created and updated if there are changes. I also discovered that when downloading updates form the data link my table format changes even if I have content and formatting locked. Is this a bug or a part of the source data being in .XLSX file format?

Has there been any updates or planned updates to allow for different excel file extensions to work natively?
