Enquiry for Grading Plan

Hello, 

I am trying to make a grading plan for a class assignment. I am using a lecture provided by my professor to do the grading but it doesn't quite look the same. (as shown below)

The section I am currently trying to grade is a bio-retention basin with a slope of 3:1 and a depth of 1ft.

I have also provided the file I am currently working in. Can anyone identify what I am doing wrong? and offer any solutions to my problem?

Your drawing failed to add.  Your above picture doesnt look anything like what the below picture looks like, it isnt the same shape.  It looks like when the grading group was created for the lower picture that the Create Surface option was checked.  This created the contours and surface that are shown, where your image is showing just a grading object.  When you created your grading object, what kind did you create? Based on the image, it looks like you created one that is based on slope at distance.  you probably need to use Slope to surface.  The pond will be deeper than 1' in some areas, but that is because the existing ground surface isnt a flat plane at a constant elevation.
