Rt click the hatch areas, GENERATE BOUNDARY will give you some polylines that you can get areas from.

Going back I see that the Title is Dynamo, this is a Civil 3D forum and that is how I answered.

@wfberry , you might not be aware that Dynamo is now included (separate download) with your Civil 3D Subscription. That's why the OP asked the question on this forum.

Yes sir Tim I am.  However, I had already offered my answer and had to go edit that rascal.

BTW, can you tell me what I might use it for?

I cound't open your files, so I attached an image from another drawing.

You need to download the "LinkDWG"-package for Dynamo in order to access the nodes.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Not sure if you can do this now with hatch but probably get some package that can do this via hatch. But if you are interested in workaround, how about do it via hatch boundary?

This is how I will do this. See animated gif as a guide. Sample DYN file and Dwg.

Any future Dynamo inquiry, Please post it <Here>  (Dynamo BIM forum) and you will get more answer.

Cheers,

Jowenn
