Hello!
The projects I work on often contain multileaders identifying an aspect of the project, and we manually number them within the mtext of the multileader. This becomes very time consuming when the projects contain hundreds of these, and we have to insert a new one in the line and renumber all of them... Is there a way to make the multileaders number themselves and then recognize when a new one has been inserted?
I don't think there is a way to do this automatically (as you insert new ones). One thing you could try is leveraging Sheet Set Manager and Fields within the MLEADER text, but even this approach will require manually renumbering via the SSM interface, but at least you will have a nice organized list to review and edit accordingly. Anyway, perhaps someone knows of a better work-a-round for you needs. Good luck.

Yeah, for as long as Autodesk has been around this is a huge oversight. There just should be a way of automatically generating and numbering construction notes.
A coworker suggested you could make a block for each numbered balloon, and so changes to the numbering could be done by redefining a block. That is, if you added a new note between, say, notes sixteen and seventeen, and now all the balloons numbered after 17 need to be renumbered you would just redefine each balloon's block to have the new number.
It'd be more work than it is worth, I think.
Thanks you! I'll have to run this idea by a coworker who has more CAD experience to see if this'll work for our projects! We only use the Sheet Set Manager occasionally so now I am curious if it could help with other parts of the project.
It would be so helpful to have this function available.. hopefully Autodesk will add it soon. Thanks for the suggestion!
