Duplication of horizontal alignment from existing alignment in civil 3d

Can I duplicate horizontal alignment from the existing alignment in civil 3d?

Then I can edit the duplicate horizontal alignment without touching the existing alignment.

One way to do it:

Offset the alignment 1', this creates a polyline.  Offset this polyline back 1' to the original location, then create another alignment from this polyline.

If you offset the alignment but can't see it, either your current layer is OFF or maybe the offset distance was so small the polyline appears to be right on top of the alignment.

Is this for sure an Alignment and not a Corridor that you are offsetting?  Does the command line say "Cannot offset that object"?

Use the AutoCAD Copy command. It's only one step to where you want to be.
