There's THIS. But that's just a guess without knowing the source of the DTM file.

You have to install the Productivity Tools for your version. You must be on Maintenance or Subscription. Go to your account management page and select Product Enhancements from the menu in the lower left. Download the appropriate Import-Export Extension for your version. Please let us know what version you're running.

Ok! Good to know! I do not see the menu you mentioned maybe because I am not a CAD manager in my company ans just have a private account! Perhaps I should follow instructions this video! https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/move-to-subscription/manage-your-...

Do you have an IT or CAD manager who sets your level of access? You could check with them. If not, it would be worth the time to check with your reseller to check if you have the rights to the Productivity Tools.

I talked to my CAD manager and it was fixed so everything is working now, thanks!!! The extension I was looking for is "Autodesk® Civil Engineering Data Translator English 64-bit Extension" for .DTM files, but it is for 2015. So there is no update for 2016 or 2017? Am I going to lose this ability if I update my CAD to higher version?

I had the same issue in C3D 2019 and thought I'd update this thread to help shorten the search for anyone else having this issue. As of December 2018:

"A new version of the Civil Engineering Data Translator (CEDT) is available so data can continue to be migrated between Civil 3D and Bentley InRoads and Bentley GEOPAK software. This service enables you design source files to be uploaded and converted to target project data formats without having to install Bentley software. Highlights of the new Civil Engineering Data Translator include:

  • One CEDT client supports all versions of Civil 3D from 2016 forward.
  • The CEDT client does not need Civil 3D installed to operate."

Hopefully this helps someone in the future.
