Hi @wokeyiyognshenme, please check that the aerial image is correctly georeferenced. If so, and this still happens, try activating the level of detail or deactivating graphic acceleration.

Regards!

after levelofdetailoff,

turn off triangles layer

turn on elevation layer

both the model direction(3d) and Plan view are ok.

thankyou.

sometimes its color is gray white, you should scroll your mouse a little ,then the picture will show again.

Question: how to check that the aerial image is correctly georeferenced ?

Hi again @wokeyiyognshenme, I think you can do that with ArcGIS or QGis. A quick search on YouTube can provide lots of material on how to do that.

I hope this helps, best regards!

  question 1

No matter how I scale this image (image attach), it always scales within a surface.

Autodesk Civil 3D Help | To Drape Images On Surfaces | Autodesk

Click Insert tab Reference panel Attach .
Navigate to the location where the image is saved, select the image, and click Open.
In the Attach Image dialog box, specify Insertion Point, Scale, and Rotation or select Specify on Screen to do the adjustments in the drawing.
Click OK.
Select a surface. On the Surface tab, Surface Tools panel, click Drape Image .
In the Drape Image dialog box, select the image from the Image list or click to select the image from the drawing.
From the Surface list, select the surface on which you want to drape the image or click to select the surface from the drawing.
Under Render Material Name, enter the name for the new render material. This name will be associated with the new render material which is created from the image that you have imported.
Note: By default, the name of the new render material is comprised of the surface name and the image file name.
Click OK.
The image is draped over the surface. This image becomes associated with the new render material, which is added to the materials palette.

If the image is smaller than the surface, the draping only occurs on the area covered by the image.

If the area of the image exceeds the area of the surface, the image is cropped along the surface boundary.

--- it doesn't work ?

Question 2

To perform this operation, ensure that the surface display style has triangles visibility enabled.

Strange, exactly the opposite,

if i turn on triangles, turn off elevation,  the surface color is gray white . i can not see the picture;

if i turn off triangles, turn on elevation, . i can  see the picture;

Question 3

Also, ensure that Realistic is a default type of materials set in the Material Editor in the Materials window

---- how to set this ? i can not find it .

(to view the settings, at the command line, enter MATERIALS).
