Display text attribute from imported .shp file.

I am trying to display text that is an attribute of a .shp file. I have imported the .shp file via Map Import (with Object Data selected). When the import is complete I am left with empty polygons where I am wanted the text labels to show up (see attachment).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

It can be done but I don't know the commands to do. However, the FDO import tool has a very inuative interface for grabing field from the database.

MAPWSPACE opens the FDO panel

Adda shp file>>> dbl click edit and add labels with the expression builder

If I were at a workstation Id show you
