DEM vs XML from Same Surface

So I wanted to extract a surface from another drawing to create a new drawing.  I exported the surface in both DEM and LandXML.  Essentially they look different but the data appears to be close as you can hover over every line that would be assumed overlapping and not but the elevation difference might be like .2' different.  The boundary of the surface is also interesting since they both were created from the same surface so my question is what is more accurate when exporting a surface a LandXML or DEM?

Can you post the files.... My guess is it's the drawing units or INSUNITS not equal to 0
