Data shortcut issue while synchronizing

Hi,

I am using civil 3D 2014.i did Data shortcut but if i update the main file it was not reflecting in the other file which i did data shortcut.but it was showing  synchronize.but drawing was not updating,i couldn't find the reason behind that.if anyone knows please help me out.

And it still didnt update after you got out of the second drawing and came back into it?

I dont have 2014 to test on, but in 2015 and above, on the manage tab, you can find a few items that can help.

On the Data Shortcuts panel, you can use the Synchronize References to manually sync data references, or you can use the Manage Data Shortcuts tool to see where your data shortcuts really go.  I've seen on some complex projects, the data reference was not referencing the file the user thought it was.
