Data shortcut editor for corridors

Hi,

How we can change the reference path and Use to match (handle or name) for the Corridors data shortcuts?

With data shortcut editor we don't get option for corridor data shortcut. I tried with Manage data shortcuts but no luck.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nilesh

Hi @nilesh33    What version are you using?  It shows up in my 2018

I have Civil 3D 2011, 2013 & 2019 installed.
When I hit the start button and type "data" I get three identical shortcuts to "Data Shortcuts Editor".
There is no indication as to which version they are. I can't tell what folder they are launching from. The icon and names are all identical.
None of them show corridors as being an option to work with.

Data shortcuts for corridors didn't start until 2018.  I select Manage Data Shortcuts from the Manage tab of the ribbon. The command is  _AeccManageDataShortcuts

I have 2018 and 2017 installed, and Corridors is listed under Data Shortcuts on both versions Prospector.  I have never tried to use it, but it may be useful. Bears more investigation.

I'd forgotten about that. I think it's probably the best bet, by the looks of things.

I think @nilesh33 was asking about the external stand-alone program known as "Data Shortcuts Editor".

I'm confused that I have 3 versions of the editor but they're all the same. (The latest one should be different to allow for the addition of corridors. But I can't even tell which is which anyway.)

I have.

Just my first project so far.

It's glitched out once. Turned into a broken shortcut and refused to be fixed. I deleted the corridor object, deleted the shortcut and recreated it all. And so far it's working again (it updates in section view in the section drawing when I click synchronize).

@troma,  I just checked and the external program Data Shortcuts Editor doesn't show corridors.  Seems they only show from the Manage Data Shortcuts command in the manage tab of the ribbon.

Dear all,

Thanks for your replies and interest.

I am using Civil 3D 2018, so manage data shortcut command should work ideally but it will not give advanced option to change 'use to match' (Handle or name) type for corridors.

So we will really appreciated if Autodesk can include Corridors data shortcuts in Shortcut editor application. May be they are already working on it. Smiley Happy

Thanks,

Nilesh

If corridor shortcuts have been included since 2017, it's bizarre that the shortcuts editor hasn't been updated to match.

I haven’t tried again since mine broke. The only utility I see of it is if I want to use the corridor styled to show as plan lines. What else? Xref makes sections, surface dref got grading. What else?

I'm using it for sections.
My intention is to keep the drawing size smaller. I thought d-ref would be better than x-ref. There's a whole bunch of stuff in my corridor drawing I don't need in my section drawing, so just d-ref the corridor instead of x-reffing a whole drawing.

I guess we'll see. If it's that bad I'll switch back to x-ref.

Simple should be ok. Word on the street is not at all with offset alignments and forget offset assembly
