Data References will not Synchronize

Sorry if this has been posted on before, I'm on my phone this morning and dont have the patience to figure out how to search the forums.  2019.2 Data References are not sychronizing.  I tried manually syncing, I tried everything one would think you should do (closing out, rebooting, re opening, forcing updates, etc.) and nothing worked, except opening up the drawing in 2018.2 and manually syncing the data reference.   All I did was change my pipe descriptions and wanted it to update on my sheets and I couldnt get it to do it.

Does anyone know if there is a hotfix, or know of a way to force syncing data references in 2019?

Thanks,

Hi @chriscowgill7373 ,

I found similar post of this issue in this <thread link> I think wait for 2019.3 update and see if that will be included in their update fix.

For now your trick of using 2018.2 will be your best bet.

Cheers,

Jowenn

Hi @chriscowgill7373

It is a known issue...

Easiest way I have found to fix it is to break the data ref, i.e. rename the model file, then sync, then rename the model file back and sync.  Painful but works!

This along with drawings containing pipe networks data refs crashing when sync'ing if the model is open is also a major pain!

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to do that for now.  Not sure how that works very well for anyone who no longer has 2018 installed.  Of course based on history, 2020 will be out in a couple months and we'll move on over and hopefully the issue is resolved.

@chriscowgill7373  based on past experiences the more likely scenario is that 2020 will introuce a new raft of broken functionality to things that weren't broken in previous releases....:?

Chris, if SYNCHRONIZEREFERENCES doesn't work, try AECCFORCESYNCHRONIZEREFERENCES.

Have you moved to Civil 3D 2020 and have you had any synchronize issues?

I probably should have come back after the upgrade.  As far as I know, all of the issues were resolved with the 2019.3 update and the 2020.1 updates.
