Curb Return Triangles Do Not following frequency lines?!

Why on earth doesn't C3D use Frequency insertion lines as breaklines? Is there a way to make this Happen?

When designing a kerb return/curb return. The triangles  (green in attached image) cross the insertion lines or Frequencies (Red in attached image). This makes the contours look terrible.

I know I can make edits to the surface, but this is such a terrible way to work, because:

A - I shouldn't need to. I'm super Lazy, i don't want to do this

B - With major changes i need to go back and edit them. I'm super Lazy, I don't want to do this

C - Manual edits on top of manual edits on top of manual edit will occur. this sux and yes, I'm lazy

Hi @michael_jamesG7LDR,

You can force in Feature Lines associated to your Corridor through the Surface tab of your Corridor Properties.

You'll need to understand what specific Code Point to add in. But this is usually evident with an OOTB Sub Assembly when you take a look. If not, you just need to look at the Sub assembly properties to identify the correct point/feature line to add.

Once you've picked the correct one to add, hit the green plus and it will add that to the Surface as a Break line.

I dont think I have ever felt I needed to add the frequency lines as breaklines.  The verticies of the triangles created by the surface always start and stop at a frequency point, just as an autofeatureline from the corridor would place nodes at those locations.  As Ian is suggesting, I would say 99% of the time, I choose Link, Top, check the box to add as breaklinrs, and set the top lines for overhang correction.   Then, as long as there are no bowties, I can use the corridor shirnkwrap as the boundary for the surface.

Thanks for the reply!

But there is no feature lines to add to the surface between the kerb return base line (blue in image attached) and the targets in the center of the road (Magenta in screen shot)..

I have updated my screen shot in attached image to show the Assembly and an arrow pointing to the issue I need to resolve

Are you able to provide a screenshot of your Corridor Surfaces tab?  Are you pasting that surface into some other surface?

Aaahhhh! This was the question I needed to be asked. The surface had been created using ONLY feature lines, not to TOP links. I simply added the top links to the surface definition and this resolved my issue!.

Thanks Chris I think you where already on this track.
