csv. format for Geotechnical Module

Hello guys, I'm interested in creating an csv file for geotechnical module that later I will imported in Geo Module.

Can anyone of you can describe what it has to have inside in that file? Or could show through a picture or just a csv file?

You can print the users guide from help files from the Geotechnical ribbon from help button.

By the way, what should I do regarding some warnings, when I try to import some files?

If you see, there are warnings to each files, so when I click next it wont happen anything, just like in the next picture...

Can you post the hole and geol csv files as this will be easier to advise you on the problem. The files have to be exactly as per templates as the module is quite particular when inputting the files

You are using the old style csv files. I would recommend using the 'new' style' csv format. If you have downloaded the files in post #2 of this thread, then use the csv's in the folder named ExampleFiles. See image below.

Use templates in this folder.

After opening the new files, you'll need to keep only the headings on row 1 and delete ALL other rows. The csv titled Orientation and Inclination is NOT mandatory so you don't have to use it, the other two are mandatory and must be completed. Do not change the TITLES of Field Geological Descriptions or Location Details and keep & honor the 'spaces' in those titles. Also, do not change the HEADINGS inside the files and keep the upper and lower case of the used in those headings. If the headings have spaces, keep them exactly as they are. Changing the name of a heading, adding or deleting spaces, or changing upper and lower cases, will cause an error when you input the data.  

Before entering your data, it's a good idea to make 'templates' for Field Geological Descriptions and Location Details so you'll have them on hand for future use. Be aware that the Geotechnical Module is very picky on how you input your data so you should also review the 'sample data' in the sample files before deleting them. After you review, save them to make your templates so you'll be better acquainted with how they must be formatted.

I'd forgotten that the file names had changed in the Geotech module from GEOL and HOLE to Location Details.csv and Field Geological Descriptions.csv as per the Holebase SI naming (the geotech module's big brother whic I now use).

As suggested by @ChicagoLooper it is worthwhile creating your own tempate files (based on files that have worked correctly) with a couple of lines of data. I have saved these into the Civil Project structure so they are always in the project.

Hi everyone

I'm using Geotechnical Module and I have created the surfaces for each geological layer and made several cross-sections of the 3D model. Now, I want to edit the points in the profile (moving them up or down or adding new points) to adjust some issues, and I would like the surfaces to be updated based on these changes made in the cross-sections. How can I do this?"

I'm not sure that this is possible in the Geotechnical modeller (happy to be proved wrong though) and I'm sure this functionality is available in OpenGround Civil Extension but this is $$$$$$$$
