CREATING POINT TABLES

hi all,

I am creating point tables that show the easting and northing of chainages a long a road centreline alignment.

I wanted to know whether there is a automatic way for me to pick up the chainages as point group? that way I can generate the table.

At the moment after the alignment is created with the chainages I am manually having to click each chainage and assign a point. Before I can make a poitn group for creating the table. Is there any easier way to do this?

Greatly appreciated.

thanks!

I am not an Alignment expert.

More detail or a sketch of what you want would help.

The Alignment reports available in the Toolbox may do what you want.

You can make Alignment reports and tables using "Project Explorer."

Good Luck!

Chris

Hi Chris,

thanks for your response.

Basically as per below screenshot you can see I've created an alignment for the centreline of my road. Along the centre line you'll see some points which are the chainages across that line which are created when the alignment was made. I essentially want to create a point group for this alignment so that I can create an easting and northing table that shows the chainage and eastings as per the other screenshot.

at the moment I am manually having to assign each chainage point along the alignment in order to create a point group. which is the pink crosses you see. But I think there would be a way I can just assign the chainage points on the line to it's own group automatically, meaning I don't have to click each chainage and assign it.

Hopefully this makes sense?

I notice that there are symbols by the TPs. Are these random points or part of the alignment definition?

ah yes, so the TPS are represented with that symbol where as the regular chainages are just represented with a line across the alignment. Both are apart of the alignment yes.

I think you can get most of your points automatically.

Try _AeccCreatePointAtPcPtScEtc

Points added.

For Chainage set points every X units, use : _AeccCreatePointMeasureAlign

(You can specify an offset as well)

ChrisRS_4-1676355746465.png

Here points have been added every 25 ft.

This should get you started.

Go ahead and experiment.

I hope this helps.

Chris
