Creating Alignment with stations

Good Day and thank you in advance for taking your time to read my post and giving any advice possible.

I am new to Civil 3D. Experienced with other cad platforms.

My question is, can I create an alignment based on given station numbers and elevations?

I have drawn lines before and turned them into alignments. If I am given a table of stations and elevations with both vertical and horizontal curves what is the best way for me to go about creating an alignment?

The short answer here is you need to create a Profile. Alignments are 2 dimensional line work that can be used to read (sample) the existing surface (TIN). Once you have a profile of the existing surface along your alignment, you can develop the vertical curves from that data. They work in concert, EG surface, Alignment, Profile, Cross-sections.
