Ultimately, I am trying to export data to HEC-RAS to analyze a stream that is crossed by a bridge (university senior design project). I am using Autodesk Civil 3d 2019 and have never used it before.
I have downloaded elevation data from USGS. I have imported that data to Civil 3D using 'Data Connections by Provider' and 'Add Raster Image or Surface Connection'.
I believe I know how to create what I need for HEC-RAS output (polyline at centerline of river --> Alignment & polylines at cross-sections --> Sample Lines). However, I am at a loss as to how to create a 'Surface' from the data I have imported. Is this even possible?
