Create pipe using a profile

Hello,

New to pipe. I have a silly question. I have a profile and alignment. Is it possible to create a pipe from pipe creation tools?

Thank you very much for your help!

Yes, you can use the create Pipe Network by layout.

Thank you for sharing. It defiantly helps. It uses plan to create pipes and draw in the profile. I can adjust profile later. Just wondering if I can use the profile for pipe from consultant to create pipe directly.

OK I got it.  I don't think so directly,  It may be possible with a dynamo script but there isn't OOTB way to do that, that I am aware of.

If you have alignment and profile you can Extract the FL from alignment and clear the check box for dynamic

then you can create pipe network from object, the FL.

the change in profile will not be dynamic but it is easy enough to do the extraction in the station range, delete the unwanted pipe and structure, create from object then merge into the original network.

You can create a feature line from the alignment using the design profile (or even using an existing ground profile).  Then create pipe network from object, choose that feature line, then click the "use vertex elevations" and choose if you want that to be outside top, invert, etc.   You can drop the feature line by a certain distance if you want to set it for minimum cover, etc.  Just be sure to weed the feature line first if there are too many vertices.
