Create Multiple Sections

I have created the an alignment, profile and corridor w/assembly but, when I try to create a Section View, the last tab (Create Section View) is not lit up i.e., won't respond.

Any suggestions?

Hi @JimJonesPELS ,

Have you created Sample Lines alongs your alignment first? To create sections views, you need sample lines to indicate where the sections would be taken.

Thanks. I have created sample lines. That doesn’t seem to be the issue.

Can you share the file?

The link only seems to allow Autocad Web Access and therefore no C3D functionality.

Can you send a stand alone C3D DWG here?

I'll try.

I'm going to be away from my desk mostly for the rest of the day.

I'll try to get back later.  May be Monday.

Thanks

Hi @JimJonesPELS,

It seems to have worked fine for me. My first thought was maybe because you only have an offset alignment. But that doesn't seem to be the case and no problems for me creating the sections:-

How are you creating your profile views, what version are you using?

That figures.  When I click on the Section View drop-down Create Mulitple Section Views, the bottom tab "Section View Table" was not lit up i.e., unresponsive.

I think my problem was on the second tab "Section Placement."  I'm working on Exercise 2:  Creating Section Views.  In the tutorial and I'm instructed to select Civil 3D (Imperial) Section.dwt but, that file is not located in the drive location that pops up.  There are other .dwt files there but not the one I need.  I searched my computer and could not find it anywhere.  I tried other .dwt files and nothing worked.  I think I need the file called for, or some other .dwt file that does work, to activate the "Section View Table" tab.

Let me know what you think.

In re the profile line:

I'm in C3D 2025 and just set up the profile from the Create Surface Profile tab as shown in the tutorial.

Once you click on the Create Multiple Views tab you'll get the 'Create Multiple Section Views' dialogue box. Here, you can go straight to 'Create Section Views' which will produce your sections from any pre set defaults that you may have built into your DWT.

My 'Section View Tables' is greyed out also, but this isn't needed to create Section views.
