Create Best Fit Profile Options - Below Only ?

I see that there are two "Profile Draw method" in the "Create Best Fit Profile" dialog box:

1.  Allow Above and Below

2.  Above Only

Why isn't there a third option "Below Only" ?...

Anyone ?..

Hi @cadtown, good question. I am a roadway designer, and I use this option when I want to create quick layout profiles that are close to existing road conditions in rehab projects. From that perspective, if we manage to resemble the terrain (existing road) going along the surface and above, it will result in the very same geometry as going below it. That is the only reason I consider this option makes sense.

However, I agree with you that for projects where we are sketching a layout profile for a new road, it would be interesting to have an option like the one you mentioned. Therefore, I encourage you to post this idea in the ideas forum so the Development team can review it.
