Corridor surface - contour disturbance

Hi all,

On civil 3d 2022, I am attempting to grade a few intersections using corridors, then generate the surface of the corridor from feature lines (ETW and crown). I noticed that, at some frequencies and regions, the surface contour lines were distorted and disrupted, as shown below. I would appreciate assistance from someone because I have no idea about this.

If you edit the surface style to show TIN lines then it may become clearer.  Essentially each of those rectangular areas between the corridor section lines is made up of two triangles in the surface.  By default the TIN is built by connecting nearest points, and in your case the curves are creating a situation where the triangulation works against you.  Most of the time this isn't an issue because the slope of your profile or cross section is steep enough that these issues aren't visible but I'm guessing that your intersection is very flat which exaggerates the problem.

I find changing the corridor data types usually resolve this issue.  Try using the top links with overhang correction turned on first.

There might also be a targeting issue.  Are you sure your offset profile / junction assembly is at the correct height?  I quite often target the wrong profile at first when working on junctions.
