Correctly export LandXML surface (without additional triangulation)

I need some advice on how to properly export a surface in LandXML format AND the surface maintains it's original shape. I've attached two files of the same surface. One is a GeoTiff surface and the other is a LandXML surface. The GeoTiff surface is how the surface should look. The LandXML surface, however, adds additional triangulation to the surface upon export. Not sure why it does this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is not in the File menu in Civil 3d 2021, 2023 or 2025.

Generally, you can go to the output tab of the ribbon and you should see Export to LandXML on the export panel.

LandXML export can only export Tin Surfaces in Civil 3d, not Grid surfaces if you have made that one from your dem file.

You can either create a Tin Surface and add the DEM file, or create a Tin Surface and paste the Grid surface into it.

Either way, you can export the resultant Tin Surface.

Civil 3D has two surface types - a TIN Surface, and a DEM Surface. (Not counting the Volume surfaces)

The DEM surface does not export to LandXML.  To convert a DEM to TIN - you need to create the TIN surface, and paste in the DEM.

As far as I can tell - Global Mapper can do the Export to LandXML directly.  <--  @dsmapping

How is this code run? All the paths etc look to be hard coded
