Copying Survey Drawing

I'd like to take a finished civil drawing from a survey consultant and insert it into my drawing template that has all my other styles and layers set.  Is there an easy way to copy the surface, breaklines, and cogo points between drawings and keep the integrity of the original objects?

Hello @jim.holmquist,

I would suggest making a data shortcut to the original drawing. Below is a helpful article that describes what a data shortcut is and how to make one. Hope this helps you out!

Accepted solution

We start a new drawing using our template and then insert the survey consultant's drawing into ours using the explode option.  99% of everything comes in just fine and intact, including points and surfaces.  There will usually only be a few items to clean up, especially depending on how good the surveyor was!
