Damayanti,

You can add a Trimble Link Tab to Civil 3D. It has more functionality than Survey Link. Trimble has a version for different years. Here's the one for 2017:
http://www.trimble.com/support_trl.aspx?Nav=Collection-63438&pt=Link%203D%20Support

Another idea is to put a Style Sheet on your data collector that will export different file formats from your DC. Lots of them here:
http://www.trimble.com/support_trl.aspx?Nav=Collection-32914&pt=Trimble%20Survey%20Controller%20Supp...

And if neither of those work for you, please Zippola and post your DC file.

Hi Dave

thanks for your reply

I had no luck use trimble link 2016.

Unfortunatrly, I couldn't connect to the survey tools.

I only have .dc fle and .job file  from surveyor.

Kindly advice the procedure to process this raw data.

I would send the dc and job file to you

Thank You

Damayanti

Damayanti,

Yes, please post your DC file and JOB file. Zip them and the Forum will let you post those files.

Damayanti,

I wasn't able to import it with Trimble Link, so I don't know how to use that data. Sorry.

Damayanti,

OK, I was able to open the JOB file in TBC by drag-n-drop:

You can download a free version of Trimble Business Center HCE here:
http://construction.trimble.com/products/software-solutions/business-center-hce

I've attached a CSV file of the points.

You can copy the .raw file from the DC and should be able to open and convert to fbk or csv from that, using survey link.

Survey Link is a dinosaur, it doesn't like the trimble access job files.

RL,

Did you try it with Damayanti's DC and JOB files? I haven't had any luck with Survey Link since Softdesk 8. I've never been able to get Survey Link to do anything in LDT or C3D.

I have no issue with Survey Link convert raw, rw5 from a DC to FBK or CSV, but the new JOB files that come from DC's these days it just does not like. It's a format issue.

Surveylink has not been updated in almost 10yrs. maybe longer, and then it was just a minor change (bug fix). If your file name is more than 8 characters and not in DOS format it will not open in most cases..... That how much of a dinosaur it is.... But even in LDD I used it as well, all the way back to the Softdesk days.

Hopefully you have found a solution already!

Incase you haven't, Trimble have created a ASCII file generator to convert .job files into usable ascii files.

You will need:

-Trimble ASCII File Generator https://www.trimble.com/globalTRLTAB.asp?nav=Collection-62098

-The geoid files associated with the job (it belongs in this folder C:\ProgramData\Trimble\GeoData )

-The xml or stylesheets that will produce the desired output file http://www.trimble.com/globalTRLTAB.asp?nav=Collection-32914

-The .job file from the surveyor
