Convert 32 drawings from ARCH units to Decimal and dimension edits needed for each

We need to convert 32 existing drawing files from architectural units to Decimal. Next in model space everything has to be scaled by 1/12 which leaves dimensions with large leaders. All dimension text needs to be converted to Decimal as well. 

Not sure why the leaders remain large and do not scale down by 1/12 too. 

Easiest/quickest way to replicate this conversion for all 32 CAD drawings?

Hi Robert,
"Easiest/quickest way" would be to XRef them into the drawing you're working on. Change Insertion Units to Arch and let C3D handle things automatically.

Thank for the reply Dave. Why would I change the insertion units to ARCH when I want to convert from ARCH to Decimal.

Also how do you set the insertion units in a xref attach?

Hi Robert,
When you set Insertion Scale to Inches you're telling C3D that you are inserting, or Xreffing in, a drawing whose units are Architectural. C3D automatically scales things.

Set command UNITS before you Xref in the arch drawing. And set it back to decimal if you then want to Xref in a decimal drawing.

Thank you. However, no matter what I used as insertion scale inches, feet, unitless the xref ARCH plan always came in 12x the size. I had to set Attach External Reference: Scale to 1/12 and uniform. Then my xref comes in at proper decimal scale.

Unless I was supposed to set the UNITS length type to Architectural in my Decimal Drawing then xref in using inches?

Sorry, looks like I'm wrong. I coulda swore changing insertion units worked for me in the past.
I just created some dummy data to test, and it didn't work.

Here are the two ARCH drawing with the template 11x17 & 87.5x11.dwt file I'm using.

The ARCH dwg file is typical of all 32 conversion needed drawings with Architectural units and the DWT template is set to Decimal units.

I have been basically opening the ARCH drawing(s) and on the layout tab From Template.. I add my dwt layout. I then take that layout with it's VP and Scalebar and copy paste into the ARCH SHEET 3 layout, go into model space and scale everything 1/12, Back to PS and replace the two VP's, find my desired project linework and set a final VP decimal scale.

Does all that make sense? Looking for a better way to do this if possible.

Note: I have reduced down this ARCH drawing to only the single SHEET 3 layout (for your testing) as each of the 32 drawings have several layouts that all need to be done this same way.

Hi Robert,
Your "ARCH.dwg" is not inch(architectural) units. It's feet units.
I opened it with vanilla AutoCAD to check, because sometimes Civil 3D will fib.

So do I want to set my ARCH dwgs to inches and in my decimal template set insertion units to feet?

Robert,
Since both drawings are feet units, you don't have anything to scale. Set insertion units to unitless so that no scaling will happen.

I don't understand what you're doing with layout tabs.

I mention the layouts because there are 6-7 of them in each of the 32 drawing files needing converted. The test dwg I posted here is just ONE layout. Meaning I have to do these new scalebar linked VP scalings 200+ times
