I am trying to connect to WMS City of Toronto GIS Ortho Image database and It is asking for a user name and password and it's not connected. It's very urgent. Any help is appreciated.

Perhaps your URL is incorrect. <the Screenshot is not complete. What is the source for this URL?

Username and PW are always requested in MAP. You can leave them blank in MAP when anonymous login is allowed.

You can test this URL instead:

https://gis.toronto.ca/arcgis/services/primary/cot_ortho_webm/MapServer/WMSServer?version=1.3.0

Hi Sepideh,
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums.
What version Civil 3D do you have? There were problems with, I think I remember, 2018. And also problems with "rest" connections. There were some patches, and also some of the updates fixed things.

Please post the link for testing.

Some information >>>Here<<<, and I think if you remove "rest" from the URL it might work.

If you connect using WMTS (tiled) not WMS

https://gis.toronto.ca/arcgis/rest/services/basemap/cot_ortho_2020_color_8cm/MapServer/WMTS/1.0.0/WM...

it works as expected.

WMTS is available with MAP and Civil 3D 2021.

This connecion works as WMS

https://gis.toronto.ca/arcgis/services/primary/cot_ortho_webm/MapServer/WMSServer?version=1.3.0

What Civil 3D Version you are using?

If you want aerial imagery for the City of Toronto you can use WMS. This video demonstrates how you can do it. To watch the video click >>HERE<<.

Have you installed all AutoCAD, AuitoCAD MAP and AutoCAD Civil 3D Updates for 2018?

Any Error messages?

Perhaps this Hotfix can help?

Here is a short successful test with Civil 3D 2018.3.1

Your link appears to be either outdated or no longer supported supported. I did try connecting using another GIS program (Global Mapper) and your link still doesn't work so it appears to be an issue with the link itself and not AutoCad's ability to make a connection.

If you want imagery for the City of Totonto you may use

https://gis.toronto.ca/arcgis/services/primary/cot_ortho_webm/MapServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabil...

Hi Udo,
I had no luck in either 2018, 2022, or QGIS until I added "?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS" to those URL's. Also assigning the CSRS.UTM-17N coordinate system might be necessary. Anyway, it now works. Good video.
