Comparison surface - Volume dashboard

Hello,

I'm starting to use the volume dashborad to get cut & fill report.

Here my point:

I normally have the exsisting Groung  and I don't to how to build the comparison surface (which should be my final ground).

Based on the survey points and the EG, in which way i can model the comparison surface?

where I could find some excercise to perform?

thanks in advance for your help.

You need to build a proposed surface as your comparison surface.

This can be a surface generated from a corridor, featurelines or a combination of these and more including gradings.

The volume dashboard can then compare between these.

If you want to use the final proposed ground surface for volume comparison you need to be wary of the volumes so generated as they will typically include the construction makeup thicknesses for roads etc.You would also (typically) need to exclude organic topsoil/unsuitable material from the existing ground model as well

There are techniques that exist for compute volumes to a datum/formation surface and this is most easily achieved by using corridors for modelling. If you now using corridors it is a little bit more involved
