Command line do not responde when open another drawing file

This issue appeared recently, maybe I typed something that I haven't realized and changed settings in commnad line promt. Searched in options and settings for command line promt, couldn't find it myself the issue.

Perhpas someone can help me, why when I open another drawing file, my first drawing file command line prompt stop respononding. I have to go to "options" and click "apply" each time to make the comman line work in first drawing file.

 I have 2  #d Civil on my desktop, Civil 3d-2014 and 2016.

re-installtion of Civil 3d-2016, didnt solve the issue.  I have same issue with Civil 3d-2014 program. Maybe it is not the Autocad issue, but some settings on my computer?

 Thank you, SC

It's probably related to Level of Detail. Try turning it off and see if that gets rid of the error. I also move the taskbar size and it seems to bring it back, at least when creating a quick profile in a different viewport.

Hi snivanova,

Can you switch drawing tabs and then switch back? I remember seeing similar reports (the issue is intermittent) where program seems to freeze and users cannot type in the command line. This typically occurs if there are multiple drawings opened. To resolve it user may just switch drawing tabs and come back to the old drawing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Almas,
I click options, and apply, then the command line comes to normal phase, working again. you are correct, I have usually multiple drawings open, however, i didn't have this issue before. it appeared about 2 weeks ago, and not going away. I got some another help I see , trying their advice. hoping will help to solve the problem. 🙂

I'm having the same trouble. Seems to have just started with C3D 2018. I have found that I type the command in one drawing and nothing happens. If I switch tabs to the other drawing, my commands appear at the command line. I've just been closing the second drawing, but would like a better solution.
