Civil3D Full screen adding extra space

When I set my C3D windows screen to full view (Maximize) I get this weird bottom area with nothing in it. I have to stretch out my area and keep set at Restore Down.

Have you undocked the command line? If so, I would say go the customizations and do a save when you've expanded the window. save/shut down and restart.

That did not fix it. I set it to Maximum, set a new workspace, shut down and restarted and get the same weird area. When you say "...go the customizations and do a save when you've expanded the window" I assume this is what you meant Workspace

How long has this been happening? Was something changed with your graphics card? Possibly a Grid set if you card allows it.

New job new install of Civil3D so like 3 weeks. I have a gut feeling it was an old profile that I migrated over from 2025 to what we run here, 2024 and that threw C3D out of whack. I have since deleted that profile but even setting the OTB Civil imperial profile causes this maximum screen issue. I have to set the UI to Restore Down and set my workspace to use that. It works ok for now. Maximum makes it like there are two tabs open when it is only one. Weird thing is I have cursor in the upper window, but it will not show in the lower (under looking) window

It is strange because the cursor coordinates show different positions in both. If you have a second monitor try dragging just the open tab to the second monitor and see what happens.

Profiles are version specific. You can't use a 25 profile in 24 that's going backwards.

I drag it to my laptop window and maximize screen it works ok. Drag it back to secondary monitor and it creates the extra space

What happens if you just drag the Tab?

Drag just the tab to any another monitor Except my main Laptop gives the extra space when maximum window button selected.

I was thinking more of being able to look for something under the tab.

So this is an external monitor issue: how is the dual screen set up in your Windows version? Show us screenshots from your display manager.

How is the second monitor connected to your laptop? Are there other methods you can try?

And what are the monitor resolutions on both the laptop and external monitor?
And did you by chance decide to scale text or display on one of them too?
