Civil 3D Submenus not opening dynamicallyafter object selection

I'm new at Civil 3D, so I recently discovered that the default software is set up to open an especific menu related to the object that you select on your workspace.

I'm having trouble, because my Civil 3D never worked that way and now I want to fix this.

You see , I selected the profile view but no menu openend at the top (It always stay static at the home tab)!

Any ideas on how to make this menu open dynamically?

Sometimes, your contextual ribbon may have corrupted. Then you can use THIS method.

Sometimes when you select a Civil 3D object it will show as a shrunk tab using two arrows at the right corner of the ribbon.
