Civil 3D Pressure Network Fitting Profile Labels

I am curious to see how others have dealt with the labeling of Pressure Network Fittings in profile view. From what I can tell, there is no option to insert any sort of invert elevation for the fittings in profile view. The only part property that is able to be labeled is the insertion point elevation, which is the center elevation of the fitting.

An expression could be written to subtract half the pipe diameter from this insertion point elevation, but you cannot add a connected pipe diameter to the expression, which results in the diameter being "dumb" and the designer needing to have a different label style for each different pipe size in your model (not ideal). Any thoughts on this? How do you all label your pressure network fittings?

Thanks,

We do most labeling in plan view.  For elevations, we created labels for the start and end of pipes and drag the label to the appropriate location and use top of pipe at the connection.  It's not a perfect solution.  Otherwise we're labeling through annotative tab.
