Hello.
I have been struggeling with using autocad and civil 3d for my study since the start. I kept getting errors and files could not be found. After factory resetting my pc (because uninstalling civil 3d seems to not uninstall everything) and installing civil 3d again I am still getting error like the following : unhandled acces violating 0x0000 and then each time The error pops a a different code behind this appears. Today I found out that when I start without hardware acceleration I am able to run civil 3d. I then turn it on again in the program and after a few minutes it crashes again.
This is very weird because my videocard is a 1050TI max-q and the drivers are up-to-date.
The error happens as following:
- I start civil 3d
- It opens the program and I get the pallete on the right.
- The grey template turns black and the error appears.
Note that when the window on the left appears my program does startup but if it crashes it doesnt.
My specifications are the following:
- Dell XPS 15 9570
- windows 10
- 1050TI max-q
- 16G ram
- I7 8th gen
I hope that there is an sollution available and I am willing to give more information if needed because using civil 3d without hardware acceleration is like playing with 10 fps.

As you may have read. That unhanded access violating 0x0000 requires a reinstall with Digital Signatures Disabled. You can do a Clean Install without a factory reset. See link.
Although the graphics card is listed as a performance card. Nvidia states that the Max-Q variant should be about 10 to 15% slower than a regular GTX 1050 Ti for laptops and the desktop equivalent is an entry level gaming graphics card. While some say Civil 3D runs well on gaming cards. I haven't found that to be the case. I usually stick with the Quadro line. Remember. Almost all of the benchmarking is done for gaming.
AutoCAD has been known to have trouble with 4K screens. So make sure all the updates for AutoCAD are installed as well as for Civil 3D and Map 3D. Civil 3D is a composite program and needs all the updates installed.

Wow it worked thank you so much!
Incredibly fast response aswell.
I am also getting an error for the autodeskapp. The message looks like this:
I am currently not experiencing any disadvantages with this error but I might sometimes just stumble upon this.
Is there an solution available for this error aswell?
King regards,
Jaap Klijnstra
You're welcome. Sometimes we're lucky. I've used a network license for years. So I don't have an explanation for that error. If this continues to be an issue. You might want to post to the Installation and Licensing forum.
BTW. Could you say which one of the suggestions worked. That may make it easier for other people reading this thread.
