civil 3d 22 contour problem

hello there.

im using civil 3D 22 and i have this problem, when im creating contours i want to move it a bit with mouse cursor(like in autocad landscape 2009_surface contours with movable points).

what option should i use?

Hi Saba,
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums.
A couple of ways.
1. Extract Contours from the Surface. That will give you 2D Polylines.
2. Add Surface Points.
3. Add Feature Lines as Breaklines.

If you need to play games with the contour based on the dataset provided, you'll need to adjust the dataset, or add a featureline to the dataset through the edit/define surface functions, there is no grib/go.

Saba,
Extract Contours from the Surface. That will give you 2D Polylines. But that will not change your Surface unless you use the edited Polylines to Create a New Surface. It's preferable to use Feature Lines as Breaklines to modify your surface.

You cannot "move" contours like 2009 this is 2022 can you post a file. What are you trying to truly achieve?

My bust - missed the images. If you are trying to make A look like B then I'd say create a new surface from B with the elevations you want them to be at. You have a dataset that is EXISTING. If you want to modify the dataset to your own its a PROPOSED dataset. Meaning you'll need 2 surfaces not 1

Countours don't define the Surface--the Surface defines the Contours. Contours are only a visual representation of the Surface, so if you want different Contours you need to change the Surface, i.e., add Points or Breaklines.
Sorry, but what you want to do is not possible in Civil 3D.

When moving a topo survey with surface the contours move out past the points and linework. I remember something about selecting the contours in a certain way to allow them to move with everything else.

Move the data(points, breaklines, etc) and the surface will move. Don't move the surface.
