I’m very happy to announce the release of Civil 3D 2023.2 Update! This is a significant update with many enhancements that are direct responses to customer requests. Highlights include:
  • Better overall performance
  • More efficient handling of Civil 3D object labels (which also contributes to better performance)
  • Workflows to create reusable corridor transitions
  • Improved editing, versioning, and standardization of custom subassemblies
  • Connection of pressure pipes to gravity network structures
Please see the release notes for detailed information about what's new and issues that have been addressed.

This video is a great summary of some of the key enhancements in Civil 3D 2023.2 Update.

Thank you, Tim.

  1. I am glad to see you post this announcement.
    Autodesk is often too modest and hides its light under a bushel.
  2. This looks to be a good update.
    We users do benefit from under-the-hood improvements that are not obvious.
  3. This update appears to be well-grounded.

Good Morning, I had our IT try to install this update and they can't seem to verify that it can update. They have tried 2 times and the about for C3D 2023 should show that it was installed, but doesn't. Anybody else have an issue with this? This is what it looks like when we have tried to update. (See below)

Update only shows 2023.1

We used the Desktop app, talked with our Dealer and there is a 2023.2 update and will try that.

The downloaded update from the app. didn't work.

The speed enhancements look interesting but I'll reserve judgment until I try it with my own drawings...🤔

@michael.perryDM5CX

Perhaps it's due to the Map3D update (fix) not being installed.

@TimYarris

Thanks to you and the team for adding Property Data to Points in PE, tested it last night, works like a charm.

Well, the desktop app seemed to be the problem child. Got the 2023.2 update and installed as it should.

Thanks for the ideas and support.

I am having issues with getting either the C3D 2023.1 or .2 updates to install. I tried the Map 3D update as well as both the AutoCAD 2023.1 and .1.1 updates (all of which do install). The C3D build number I am trying to install these on is 13.5.131.0 and was acquired via Custom Install. It is possible that there is some versioning mismatch? I am going to try the classic installer to see if there is a build difference.

I got my update from support of my authorized dealer and they confirmed the update name as well.

That is when we narrowed down the problem to the Desktop app version being faulty. At least through

my experience.

Glad to see Pressure Pipes finally being able to connect to Gravity Structures. Haven't tried it yet as I just migrated from 2019, but I have multiple projects to try it on. Thanks for the update!

We ran into an issue with this update after it was installed.  The update is causing profile labels to not display or print.  We are seeing the issue across multiple drawings and machines.  I've attached 2 screen shots one prior to update and one after.  After uninstalling the update the labels reappeared and print correctly.

Is a corridor model that utilizes the new transitions feature going to be backwards compatible with older versions? Is it saving the transitions as corridor overrides?

I am seeing the same thing. When a civil label is sourced from a point that is far enough outside of the viewport (ie. alignment stationing callout on a profile view), the label just goes away from that viewport. It is not visible nor will it print. It still shows up in model space though.

I am the only one that updated to 2023.2 in our office and am the only one having the issue.

This update isn't showing up in the Autodesk Desktop App. Only the Civil 3D 2023.2 Object Enabler.

Hopefully they fix this issue. You may try to uninstall the update and see if they come back for you as well . For now we're running it without the update.  I put the path below on how to uninstall the update.  Are ya'll running windows 10 or 11?

(Windows 10)

Control Panel -> Apps & features -> (Right Side (Related settings)) Programs and Features -> Right click to uninstall

When we switched just 2 wks ago 2023 and it was doing it then, and had update 2023.1 so I can work around it by just doing in modelspace. My dept. is Survey so it isn’t that hard to do that, just annoying.

Yes, it's there. But I wanted to let Tim know that it still doesn't show up in the Autodesk Desktop App. You'd think Autodesk would have figured out how to get their primary update software working correctly after years of being released, but it seems they still haven't figured it out.
