Civil 3D 2019 Selection Highlight Issue

Hi

I'm having trouble with Civil 3D 2019 Automatically highlighting my linework like polylines and hatches, some even if I simply hover over it, it glows. I set HIGHLIGHT variable to 0 and SELECTIONEFFECT to 0. I even went as far as unchecking everything in the graphics performance manager and shutting it off completely. I prefer my selected items to be the classic dashed. The highlighted glowing is annoying especially that the glow is stuck on even after the item is unselected completely. I have to REGEN for it to go away. Any other fixes out there that will eliminate this feature once and for all?

Have you looked into the system variable SELECTIONPREVIEW?

That worked but i still don't have that dashed look upon selection. Do you know where that is?

Try SELECTIONEFFECT 

Set it to 0

It is. I'm restarting to see if that's the reason.

I am using Civil 3D 2018. Just to double check. Two separate system variables

Yes they are both set to 0. Restart solved the issue. Thanks!
