Civil 3D 2018 and Autocad 2018 takes around 30 min. to open a drawing

Hello guys,

I was using civil 3D 2018 on the office computer for quite some time now, but then I experienced some lagging after building a long corridor, so I asked for a superior computer and we installed windows 10 (as the old PC) updated it to the latest updates and installed civil 3D 2018. Now whenever I open any old drawing from the drawings I used to work on, it takes around 30 min. to open then everything is smooth again. That happens whether I use Civil 3D or AutoCAD. I tried several things from disabling network to uninstalling windows updates to removing the C++ packs and reinstall it to removing the civil 3d itself and tried another license, but the issue remains. what might be the problem?

I also used the older pc again to get some stuff done and everything is normal and almost the same updates and software are on the both PCs

A picture of where it freezes exactly (after swapping to this pc I know get a message sometimes that there are macros in the drawing and it's preferable not to load them but whatever I choose the drawings lag after that)

Does the lag happen on any system running Windows 10, or just the one system?

I recently upgraded to windows 10 and haven't noticed that kind of performance drain.

System specs old and new might also be helpful to determine the true source of the problem.

Off the top of my head, I know corridor drawings can get ridiculously corrupt, especially if you are doing everything in a single dwg. Working in a project and making use of data shortcuts has been an absolute game changer to my workflows and overall drawing stability. How long is your corridor? I routinely work anywhere from 1 to 10 km depending on the site.

When running into problems of this nature it's always best to cut out the middle man. When I say that make a copy of the project directories drawings etc. On the local drive and see if the same issue shows up

thank you very much for your help

I accidentally found a program called SPDS. I think it's like the Russian code for highways or something. when I uninstalled it everything went fine. I don't remember installing it in the first place, but anyway everything is OK now thank you again.
