Circled i Symbol in 2019

circled i.JPG

Anyone know what the lower cased i, with a circle around it means?  I opened up a c3d 2017 started drawing in 2019 this morning, and ALL of my general labels had that symbol on top of them (appears to be at the insertion point).  I can't seem to edit them away or change the style to make them disappear.  The only thing I can do is explode the labels and they go away, which is not ideal.  Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks!

these usually show up when the labels are overridden to add additional text. Right click>clear overrides resets the label items back to what is set in the style.

That makes sense.  I wonder why I've never seen this before in any of the previous versions I've worked in?  Do you know if you can turn it off in the style?  My general labels are always one-offs, so I have to edit each one.

Good tip! I did not know this. However, if you'd rather control them drawing-wide on a visibility basis (thus leaving the option in the future to easily identify which labels have this marking), please see Jay-B's solution here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-forum/overridden-text-warning/m-p/6499566/highlight/false#M3...

It means that someone updated your Civil 3D while you were working in it... it glitched and changed all you settings and preferences... the gives you a fatal error warning message. and to top it all off SharePoint and OneDrive corrupted your back up files and deleted your last 4 autosave files...  oh yeah... you were on a deadline you now can't meet.
