Changing true color and color proerties at the same time?

We do a lot of deed plots with labels, and like to change each deed to a different color for visual differentiation.  If I select numerous lines, arcs, polylines, mtxt I can go to the properties dialogue, change the color, and they all change.  If i add general segment labels to the mix, the properties pallet goes blank.   i have to use the drop down to the lines, change those colors, and then dropdown to the segment labels and change those TRUE colors.

The other drafters here have a properties toolbar up. They can select as many objects as they want, of any type, and use the color drop down and boom.  It changes all of the objects to whatever color you want, including the general segment labels.

I don't like extra toolbars, and prefer to use the ribbon and the properties tool pallet.  Usually that's not a problem, and I'd hate to add a toolbar to the mix just for this singular task, but its a task I perform a lot.  Is there a quick way to change the colors of both items?

Set color(s) by layers. Hopefully you have "numerous lines, arcs, polylines, mtxt" all set to their respective layers. Select those layers in the manager and set true colors there. You can do this either globally as per Layer>Color or different colors per viewports via VP>Color

thanks for the response.

i can, and know how to change colors of layers, and how to put objects on different layers and have item colors controlled "by layer" within blocks, or object styles..

but thats not what im doing here, and doing that doesnt fix my problem.  i need to change the colors of the objects, on a per object basis, within one layer.  aka, 20 deed plots on 1 layer titled "deeds".  they do not plot, they do not need to be turned on and off on a per layer basis.

i want each individual deed plot made up of the physical boundary (polylines, arcs, lines), parcel info(mtxt) and bearings and distances(general segment labels) to be on their own color.  not their own layer.

and by "want" i mean: that is the company standard.

The ribbon has a properties panel that contains a colour dropdown control that lets you change the colour of multiple objects at once.

My ribbon has it on the Home tab and Multiple tab (when multiple objects are selected such as you are doing.

When you select multiple objects that are different colours, the control goes blank, but you can pick it and select a colour from there.

Doing a quick check where do you get Color this way? Unless adding smart objects to the selection does not count as a color change option.

@andrewpuller3811  Does this work for you if you select multiple objects like lines arcs text multileaders and then select a civil 3d label. If I select multiple objects I can change the color until I select a civil 3d object or label then I can't.

It works for me when I have mixed lines, arcs and civil 3d label.

Are you able to set the colour of the labels on their own using the properties palette and they actually change colours?

Are you able to share a drawing that exhibits this behaviour?

Sorry, I was unsure if my ribbon was different.

I customise the ribbon to make it more efficient to use.

See image attached where I have selected a line, 2x polylines and and a civil 3d label in Civil 3d 2025.
