Changing Surface Style to Create Heat Map

Hi,

I have a drawing with so many surfaces and volumes for each one. I would like to represent my volumes in a heat map, but I only want to have red and green for cut and fill. I tried to set a surface style for elevation for all but I couldn't dictate that to have only 2 colors if anyone can help me in this.

VOL 1.dwg

Thanks.

Saeid.

Hi @SaeidHajahmadi

Go to your surface and right click on it

Then go to tab "Analysis". For analysis type choose "Elevations" and below this add two ranges. One range negative (cut) and another positive (fill) and choose the red/blue colors

I found out that you have A LOT OF SURFACES.

You can do the above task in "mass production" with Dynamo for Civil 3d tool.

I hope i helped you

Thanks for your response. I knew how to do it for one surface, my question was how to do it for so many surfaces. Can you guide me how can it be done in Dynamo?

Hi @SaeidHajahmadi

Your request inspired me to build a graph in Dynamo.

In general works, but in the final product i don't receive the red color for fill. I receive something "between" red and blue color.

Hi @SaeidHajahmadi

See the attached

When you run the graph give some seconds to your system.

There are 182 surfaces to process.

I works in C3D 2025.2, did not check in earlier versions.

You may also have to install dynamo packages (you will be notified)
