CER (Customer Error Reporting) Service (cer_dialog.exe) rendering mouse unusable (constant hourglass)

Hi everyone,

I had to disable CER (Customer Error Reporting) Service by changing the system variable REPORTERROR (from 1) to 0 due to serious issues.

Anyway, recently I am having the following issue:

Suddenly Civil starts shaking and renders my mouse useless on the entire system (not just AutoCAD Civil 3D) by continuously changing the window focus back to Civil 3D and displaying an hourglass next to the cursor.

So no matter what I try to do immediately the focus goes back to the C3D window.

Even chatting or typing text is not possible because (as you already know) the focus leaves the text input and goes straight back to Civil.

This is really annoying, but I'll stick with disabled CER for now.

If there is any solution or workaround, please let me know.

Besides, what does this service actually do? Is it necessary?

Best regards
