Cannot Type In Command Line -AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018

I have set my drawings to Auto Save about every 10 minutes.  I like this feature since sometimes I get so involved in producing a drawing I do not save as often as I should.  After the Auto Save initiates I cannot type in the command line at all.  I have noticed if I have multiple drawings open and I switch to another drawing and back to the drawing with the malfunctioning command line the command line is operating again.  Strange!  Any thoughts on why this is happening and suggestions to solve this little irritating quirk that is eating into my CAD production time.   Thanks!

I'm pretty sure this was corrected in an update.  We noticed that behavior in 2017 also.  If you pick off the screen (desktop or anywhere) then back to your session, then the Autodesk window is re-activated and put into focus.  I would double check your C3D 2018 build number and make sure you get any updates that may be pending.  I think this started with a windows falls creators update, but I could be wrong.

JN,

Interesting that you asked about updates.  I just updated the program just before I saw your post.  Here are the current specs:

Now that I have updated I will see if this problems still persists unless you have other ideas to solve problem.

Thanks

If your problem isn't fixed by updating, check if you have «levelofdetail» at on. If so, put it at off. Should fix your problem

I have up-to-date C3D 2018.2 with level of detail off and it still does this. it's done it for the last few releases whenever I have more than one dwg open. it's pretty annoying. I don't expect a fix any time soon - after a couple years of this, if it were a priority to Autodesk they would have already addressed it.

ok can't help you then 😞 , I'm still on 2017 and never had the problem since I turned levelofdetail off.

Even after installing CAD updates the problem still exists.  I just turned off "Level of Detail" and will see if that fixes this issue.  Not hoping for the best since you guys have tried with no fix.  Thanks for your comments!

I was having this same exact problem with Civil 3D 2017 on Windows 10.  I was using the Windows Sync feature to make some of my project folders available offline and I think it was the cause of the problem.  I haven't had the problem since I stopped using the sync feature.
